    Default Laser False?

I have had two laser falses recently. one was on a bright sunny day which was probably the sunlight reflected from the hood. then the second one was today. it was at night and there were a few cop cars, ambulances, firetrucks, that all had their strobes on. I know there have been a few mentioning the sunlight off the hood but nothing about strobes...

Actually, strobes have been known to cause laser falses. I often see this on my V1 when I come across an ambulance with the strobes on.

I've had a laser false around emergency vehicles with strobes on as well on my X50.

I was thinking that it could possibly be that infared flashers that public safety vehicles use to change stop lights, but those are ~700nm and Laser is ~900nm.

    May be possbile though.

The stoplight trigger strobes are regular xenon strobes like you see in nightclubs etc. AFAIK so it puts out a wide range of wavelengths, including infrared that your detector picks up.

If your detector is falsing to light, it is only a matter of time before it goes into self cal.

I get falses from light the first day out of box but my car is is usually extremely clean. I have yet to have any problems with the BEL only happens by sun rise or sunset. But the weird thing is tyhe laser detection on my BEL in my encounters is surprising to me
