    Default Idling X50 Question

On the X40's display is there something lit up while it's idling? I mean is something displayed such as "Highway" or "City" Depending on what mode if it's not alerting radar/laser bands? Or is it just blank?

    Thanks

it either says City, Highway, or Auto depending on what setting you make it

The X50 has several options for display. You can set it to display "city/highway/autoscan", "c/h/a", a 'scanning dot' or nothing at all.

Are you talking about Dark Mode?

I have mine set on the "scanning" mode where there's a little "H", "C", or "A" and a dot that goes across the display like Kitt from Knight Rider.

I use that same one. I did just have the scanning dot but that was kind of hard to differentiate between the 3.

I like it in that if it overheats, someone reported that it would stop scanning. Haven't had it overheat yet so not sure.

I also like it since it doesn't display much for others to see. Having "Highway" across the display didn't appeal to me, especially at night (even dimmed).
