8500 vs x50

I've compared the X50's I've had to my orignal 8500 REV 15.
The BIG difference is that my original 8500 smokes my X50 on 35.5 Ka band. The X50's were better on K band. They are about the same on 34.7 and X50 has the edge on 33.8 compared to the 8500.

This is what pissed me off so much about the X50. I was using the original 8500 and then the X50 came out claiming up to 50 times more sensitive only to find out it was not even close to how good my 8500 is against 35.5 Ka which is what I encounter most. That's why I say X50's suck, because Escort's older 8500 does much better on 35.5 the most common Ka frequency used in the USA.

haha, Will do but I can only test it against K band and 35.5 Ka band because that's all I encounter usually. Can't help you with 33.8 or 34.7 Ka.

im working the deal out with my buddy, hopefully by the end of this month (or sooner depending on certain events) ill have it reflashed and refurbished and in my car. i think its being sent off monday to escort.

what a strike of luck, i was about to put an order in for a v955... instead for the same price i get a "like new" 8500 :shock:

oh yea, and these radars are better off wired high right? i heard they get better radar detection this way and have even saved a couple people with laser...

It also explains how the SR7 kicks major butt still. Newer is not always better and Pre POP days were better. Thi sis why I bought a V1 3.813. This was the last NON POP V1

haha. damn i cant believe how lucky i got. my buddy actually has an x50 right now and lost his 8500 before when it quit working... he just found it so he doesnt want it anymore :mrgreen: reflash and tune up is all it needs!

anyhoo, did these perform better mounted high or low?
