Default Escort x50 couple of questions

    hey guys,

I own the escort x50 red

There is alot of false pop alerts, i dont even pay attention to them anymore. I went on a road trip from NYC to Daytona Florida and i had atleast 12 false pop alerts each way. freaking annoying.

Someone mentioned Expert mode should be turned on, is there any other tweaks i should be aware of?

    thanks

i also drive a 2005 pathfinder SUV, where is the best place to attach it, bottom middle or top of windshield?

i will be driving up to canada next week so whats to expect on the thruway?

if you're going to be driving through canada you'll want to have it hidden so above the mirror would be best in that aspect, however you are making your laser detection worse by mounting high, but pretty much with laser, you're already screwed because of the small window of reaction time.

Out of all the pop alerts I have gotten (100s), i'd have to say the ratio around here is 1:35, thats 1 real to every 35 false. Around here they like to get you by visually clocking a speeder then switching on their radar for at least 5-10 seconds to get you. (CHP does that here).

In Canada you don't even want to have you detector plugged in or even just mounted on the windsheild turned off In canada there are huge fines for running radar detectors as will as confiscating the detector

When you're in a tall vehicle, the mounting location shouldn't be as crucial as in a small car.

i think in a high car you could mount lower since you are towering over everybody else which will still make you radar detection capabilities good

you are a much bigger target for laser! wouldnt lower be better if your not using a V1?

In the past, when using my RX65 in a friend's Dodge Ram 2500 we've mounted low on the window and had good results, but never come up against laser.
