Default Anyone have experience with SR7 or RX-75?

I've seen all kinds of chat about windshield mounted detectors (8500 x50s, RX-65s, etc) I haven't seen anything about the custom installed radar detectors, I am kind of interested in the Bel RX-75 with Laser Blocker.

I've got an SR7 with the ZR3 laser jammer upgrade. I installed my system to Escorts specs but the radar reciever should be moved into the cockpit at the top of the windsheild. It will get you slightly better Ka detection. The SR7 is really just an 8500 in concealed display clothing so it's detection is slightly short of the X50 and V1. When Hookem and I tested the V1 and the SR7 against a Stalker Ka gun my SR7 was short 1/5 of a mile in detection.

I like the SR7 for the following reasons in order of importance
    1. Concealed display. I don't like stuff hanging on my windsheild
    2. Optional external speaker. I've mounted it by my ear and I never miss an alert (anymore)
    3. Integrated jammer information. I get a clear alert from my LOUD external speaker and only need to look one place for all information about my situation.

In Houston my only laser concern so far is the ProLaser 3 which the ZR3 does well against. I tested my ZR3 against Edweirds LTi gun and it didn't do so well. Once I removed my "required" front plate it did a little better.

I'm not trying to sell the SR7 but I've been very happy using it in spec mode so far. But I use it as a tool not a babysitter. I suggest you do some research what is bieng used in your area and then plan your purchase.

If you run spec mode observe . . .
    33.700-33.900 (MPH Industries)
    34.600-34.800 (Stalker)
    35.400-35.600 (Kustom/Decatur)
As you get familiar with your Belscort these frequencies will become familiar and pattern enforcment will start to appear unless you live in a state where traffic enforcement is highly "creative". Unlike in South East TX where they shoot us like deer so "no problemo"

    Good luck

Did they ever update the SR7 to support POP? You think that it's still a little weaker in Ka than the X50?

I thought that the only reason why it got a little less distance was because most people mount it in their grille which is low and blocks some of the signal.

Mounting high and with an unobstructed view is definitely the best.

That would be cool if someone mounted one in their roof scoop.

I'm not aware of a POP update for the SR7. Or for that matter how I would update it if one were available. POP is a minor threat down hear so I don't really sweat it that much. A Roof scoop? Now your teasing my radar reciever replacement location I was planning on moving it into the cabin but maybe a roof scoop might be stylish and "economical" too
