I just purchased a 9500i, have owned almost every escort product made in the past and a V1.
The first 9500i I bought had to be returned, the gps didn't work.
The second one locked on in a few seconds.
Ka performance seems to be outstanding, I've only picked up one LEO, but it provided plenty of warning, comparable to any other high end detector I've owned.
Now, k band. Now I realize its supposed to eliminate false alerts, but this thing is down right scary quiet. I have it set to highway and GPS off trying to get it to pickup known door openers, and I just about have to drive right up to the thing to get it to go off. Makes me wonder? Do I have another defective unit. Is the "field of vision" on this one much more narrow than the V1 (The V1 would go off blocks away, I almost have to be in the parking lot for the 9500i). by shutting off the GPS and on highway mode, it shouldn't be adjusting the sensitivity.
Anyone know of a good way to test the K band sensitivity?
