About a week ago, I was driving when my X50 started saying "HI VOLT" (I turned the car on while the x50 was on, not sure if that has anything to do with it...). I unplug it and plug it back in, but it keeps saying that. A few moments later, the check coolant light comes on (I just got the car back from the mechanic...cracked head gasket and etc). It goes away very fast, and then BAM! I heard a weird "boom" sounding noise. It sounded like it was coming from under the car or something. I quickly pull over and find nothing wrong with the car (coolant fluid is full, no leaks, etc). On the way back home, I didn't even plug in my X50 from the start and my car ran smoothly.
Fast forward to Monday. I was driving to class with the X50 plugged. After a few minutes, it starts going "HI VOLT" again. Then again, the coolant light comes on and I hear the sound. This time, it happens a few more times. I quickly pull over again and check the cooling system. No leaks, nothing. I decided to continue on driving to class (I had no choice, and it's finals week) without the x50 plugged in from the start. Everything runs smoothly.
So just what the hell is my X50 doing? This may sound weird, but could the X50 be interfering with my car's electrical system? At first I thought it was a coincedence, but now I'm not too sure...
Any advice? I've been thinking of running the x50 in my car tomorrow to see what the volt meter says when it gets "HI VOLT", but I'm too scared.
