    You can ignore it as long as you don't care about the SmartCord working or not. But I would get it fixed or swapped.for a new one.

    Might be a long shot here, but I have the same problem. Any chance you remember which transistor it was? I have this problem and would like to fix it myself...

    Ockham's razor. It's a throw away circuit society. It's not the transistor, it's putting up with crap service! You may violate your warranty, but why the stress? I'd just toss it and move on. Sometimes it's a no brainer.
