That's the FCC ID everyone has right now. No one has seen the new one yet, though the X50 should still look the same but have updated internals.

It may or may not have updated firmware. If it does have it, and you wanted it - you could send it in to Escort if it still under warranty and get the update. If it is out of warranty, you pay $85 I believe.
Yeh! I don't have the new one darnet oh well I guess we will have to see and btw you send in the unit they will reprogram it and not send you the preprogramed one duh! and btw mine is 8500 as well

also you may want to call escort when it comes to that sending in thing cause I sent in a video card that went to my computer and it had all contents and in the box and they sent me just the card back lol, I was like what the fudge lol, but yeh! be shure you ask what to send in for this reason .

Regards, Rocxy Lemmon

Please share if you get one of these newer X50 models :!:
Well, I purchased my X50 directly from Escort a few weeks ago and I just checked with software it has. It has the Rev 6.1, which I understand to be the latest upgrade. Being as it's my first Escort, I can't really compare it to the Rev 5.1 X50's. However, I will say that I still get falses with X Band in the city with City Mode on Low X. I have turned POP off because I've heard that increases the false alarms, but I still get the falses. I think it depends on how many buildings use X and K Bands personally.

When we drove up to Wisconsin, it only falsed a couple of times for 300ish miles on Highway Mode. McHenry County, IL must just use a lot of alarms and what not in their buildings.

I also read that someone called a Escort Tech person and that they said that the Rev 6.1 was a way of distinguishing the newer models from the older ones and that there is no difference from the Rev 5.1 vs the Rev 6.1. I cannot confirm this, again, as I have not owned a Rev 5.1. I hope this helps and sorry it's so long!

BTW, the ID ends with M4.

It doesn't work for me. As soon as I turn on the car and my RD gets power I hold all 3 buttons down at the same time on my RD and the software version doesn't come up. WTF?

I have an X50 red rev 5 and my friend's X50 is blue w/rev 6.1 . The factory says no diff. in performance whatsoever. I wholeheartedly disagree. The rev 5 falses on pop considerably more often, and the 6.1 falses on laser more often. The 6.1 reliably falses w/ laser at the same spot every time I pass, regardless on time of day (it is near an airport). I cannot get the rev 5 to alert to laser in this spot to save my life. At this point, im not sure if it is a sensitivity issue or filtering since SE Virginia does not use laser, I have never gotten a genuine laser alert. Just my .02
