If you get this "new" X50, you will have different internal hardware and possibly newer software/firmware.
Please share if you get one of these newer X50 models :!: |
Well, I purchased my X50 directly from Escort a few weeks ago and I just checked with software it has. It has the Rev 6.1, which I understand to be the latest upgrade. Being as it's my first Escort, I can't really compare it to the Rev 5.1 X50's. However, I will say that I still get falses with X Band in the city with City Mode on Low X. I have turned POP off because I've heard that increases the false alarms, but I still get the falses. I think it depends on how many buildings use X and K Bands personally.
When we drove up to Wisconsin, it only falsed a couple of times for 300ish miles on Highway Mode. McHenry County, IL must just use a lot of alarms and what not in their buildings.
I also read that someone called a Escort Tech person and that they said that the Rev 6.1 was a way of distinguishing the newer models from the older ones and that there is no difference from the Rev 5.1 vs the Rev 6.1. I cannot confirm this, again, as I have not owned a Rev 5.1. I hope this helps and sorry it's so long!
BTW, the ID ends with M4.
