What is this i hear about the x-50 coming with 6.2 from some buyers of new x-50's? I've heard some say they got 6.3 and now some say they've got 6.2? Personally I have a rev.5 And i've been told by friends that have the 6.2 6.3 version that my K band is a tad more sensitive than theirs, so i've been led to beleive if you have a Rev. 5. X-50 that you've got a stellar unit and not to send it in and keep it a Rev. 5 at all costs.

So is this still the thing to do? As i've heard from buddies that the Rev 6.2 Rev 6.3 x-50's have a tad bit better laser/lidar reception than the Rev. 5. Although the Rev. 5 has better Radar reception and is more sensitive to Radar than the Newer rev. 6.2 6.3 . If this is true, then i am going to just keep my x-50 the way it is, as i have lidar jammers that work great, and no radar detector is going to Save you from a Lidar speedtrap, by the time you get a warning it's already way too late.

I bought the X50 Blue last month and it has a build date of 42 07 with Rev. 6.3. So far I really like it. Very few falses and seems to have very good warning time on K and Ka bands.

I bought an 8500 X50 on Ebay month ago, and it is without serial number and software rev is 5.0.
How is that possible and how can I get it upgraded? What can be wrong with not having the serial number?
Is it worth getting the new soft rev?

Your X50 is the S7 radar horn. Rev 5 is the latest version for this horn. Your X50 cannot be upgraded from Rev 5.

Your X50 is gray market. Authorized dealers sell them to unauthorized dealers that remove the serial number to hide their origin from Escort. Not having a serial number makes repairs problematic, if needed. This also means you have no warranty.

I recently sent in my Rev5 blue to Escort with no serial number. I had a few problems and it took some time, but, long story short I faxed a receipt from Ebay and got it refurbed and they added a new serial number. I doubt this is a common practice since I had so much trouble getting it done.
By the way, once a Rev 5 always a Rev 5 even if you send it in.
