possible cure for x50 false laser alerts

got mine back yesterday. No more false laser when I go WOT. They also upgraded the software.

Great info on this thread. My 8500x50 has gotten really bad over the last few months with false laser warnings. 06 Mustang GT. I notice that its sometimes when more than 25% throttle it falses, but not all the time. Also just sitting idle at a red light, clutch in, no brake, no movement in the car, no turn signals, nothing.

It was fine for almost 3 years, and now this starts. It has happened with it in the cig lighter, and hardwired into the fuse box. I don't think I ever had a problem with it when in my other car.

I will try the "Ferrit" snap in thing a bob and see what happens.

Cars going into storage real soon, so it may have to wait until Spring.

my 8500 did the same thing in my 06 Range Rover. It depends on the car really. My friend took my 8500 and it didnt laser false in his moms 04 Honda Pilot or his dads 05 Acura TL but it did in his 95 Avalon.

It actually depends on the SPECIFIC (i.e. UNIQUE) vehicle. Your X-brand, Y-model car may see such a false, while my same-year-of-manufacture, X-brand, Y-model car may not.

Case-in-point?

A fellow '05 Legacy GT owner saw persistent laser falsing in his vehicle, while in mine, I lucked out, and didn't see this at all.

This, I suspect, even has to do with the SPECIFIC detector (i.e. "your" Rev5, M4 x50, versus "my" Rev5, M4 x50), based on its own production variances.

^^ Actually, when I was looking for my "fun" car, I looked at the Mustang GT as well. Pretty good "bang" for the buck and gas wasn't that expensive then. I'd be hurtin' now though if I was fueling two suv's and a GT.
