 I need to go out and remount mine!!
Everyone knows that he should have wrapped the power cord around his steering wheel once or twice.
That guy is going to get a lot of people tickets.
At first I thought he was going to leave it beside
the shifter but then he just mounted it somewhere
else that was stupid
I like how he says the name of the detector at the beginning
actually it's a pretty good spot. I see nothing wrong with the location, I know VEIL Guy uses that in Virginia.
The location is ok, but it should really be hardwired there. What makes the video idiotic is how the cord runs across the instrument cluster, etc. Like nascar said, why not wrap the cord around the steering wheel a few times while you're at it.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!
If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

The curvature of the windshield (on almost all cars) at such a corner would mounting impractical as the detector would be pointing to the left when level. To get it straight AND level, you would need to bend the right ear of the bracket back to compensate. It would make for a nice location if it wasn't for the windshield curvature as the detector would be closer to the center of the road.

As for the location, sure it reduces sensitivity slightly. I actually had my Bel mounted down in the corner for years. Of course it was hardwired, and velcroed to the dash pointing straight and flat. It is much less noticeable from the outside in the corner there, yet a very easy location to mount and wire to. It's also much closer to your direct view of the road.
The wire across the cluster..now that is hilarious.
