Default X50 Rev 5 Auto mode?

I am just wondering if the Auto Mode on the X50 is as sophisticated and useful as the one for the STI.

I understand the STI does that pairing stuff, signal strength analysis, etc.

If all Auto does on the X50 is squelch, I am going to leave it in Highway...

The CSR at escort told me it was based on "Known frequencies used by police", but X band is so small, if it was done like that, I would be paranoid, and also what about drift? What if the ancient X band gun drifted into one of the "Known door opener" frequencies?...I dunno...all I know is that my X50 AND my STi has filtered out an unmarked using X band until about 1/2 strength so I always kept them in Highway mode, now I keep my V1 in All Bogeys unless I have guests in the car with me.

Personally, I don't trust the Auto Mode. I would either
run City or Highway. I've had K encounters alert at
half the distance they would have in Highway.

I'm still unsure of if it filters out K sources.
The Reps told me no, but from experience
I really think they have some affect.
