So, I bought one at Best Buy some 4 months ago. Got the service plan for 3years.
First one: Right out of the box, went on constant K Ka and X full false alerts. (I understand that some people were having the same problem.) Sent it back to Best Buy, and replaced it for free, due to the service plan.
Second one: Worked fine for a month. Then went on constant K Ka and X full false alerts again. This time it would happen when I would start the car in the morning, and after a few minutes, it went back to normal. Sent it back to Best Buy, and replaced it for free, due to the service plan.
Before the second one went haywire, I drove on a unpaved rough road, and noticed that my RD was rattling and bouncing on the windshield a lot. Maybe that screwed it up.
Third one: Working fine for now.
Point is, I'm so glad I got it at Best Buy and got the service plan. Screw the online retailers and Escort direct. You'd have to pack it, go to post office and mail it, wait, and have them mail it back. Screw that. If it goes haywire again, I can just go to BB and have them give me an another one. Service plan saves my ass. :P At least I am covered for three years, so nothing comes out of my pocket for three years at least.
Let's hope I don't have to have it exchanged again.....
