Ok this is Day #2 for me and my newly purchased 9500i. I have been using the Tru-Lock feature and from all accounts it has been working very very well. I live in a college town of about 30,000 and have mutiple gas stations and convenience stores with X band sliding doors. My first impression after being able to Lock these out was WOW!! I couldnt belive how quiet my in town driving became. I was using my 8500 x50 before I got the 9500 and its like night and day as far as being able to filter out none radar signals.
Having said all that I noticed something tonight while driving and would welcome all comments on this.
There is a Clinic that I drive past that has sliding doors that emit an x band signal. I know have drove past it enough times that I know this to be a fact. This clinic has a highway that runs past it to the North and South. Monday night I was traveling Southbound, I encountered the signal and Locked it out with Tru-Lock....fine no problem. Well tonight I'm driving Northbound past the same clinic and I got the sliding door x band signal. I thought that once it was Locked out it was Locked out but I see now, apparently, that the Lockout feature must have a radius limit, which meant that even though I locked it out on the southbound part of the highway, the lockout area didnt reach the northbound side of the highway.
I may be wrong. Any thoughts on this...............???
