    Default Laser Encounter

Haven't been on here in a while, and when I get a Laser hit, it made me think of this forum.

Anyways, my radar detector has had me second guessing it lately, for the range just seems like its decreasing. I actually had a case where I saw the LEO first, then got a reading. But I kept telling myself that its probably IO, that and mixed with a very dirty windshield right in front of the RD.

I passed my exit near my old house, so I decide to keep going and hit the gas station that was $2.54 / gallon. I'm going my normal 70 in a 60 using the rabbit in front of me, when I get a LASER hit. I immediately slow down to 60 while looking for the LEO. Turn out my rabbit was between me and the LEO, so I didn't see him for a few seconds.

If I remember correctly, thats a textbook encounter with LASER. The LASER beam is directed at the person in front of you, a small bit goes through their windshield and hits your detector, setting it off and giving you enough time to slow down.

    Just wanted to share

    cooltc2004,
I'm thinking you were the target of the LEO because Laser
splatter is hard to come by. Now it is possible, just rare.

I'm curious, what detector are you running and where do you
    have it mounted.

Its very possible that I was, but I did have another car between me and the LEO.

I have an Escort 8500 X50 (One thing I've forgotten is what Rev it is, any idea how to tell?) mounted a little higher then middle windshield on my Buick. It was high enough to get the beam from the SUV's window though.
