    Default My New X50

Well with my brand new V1 sold on to the X50 testing... Tbh I wasn't all that pleased w/ the V1 it was more annoying, if people want me to do a full review on it let me know and I might take the time to do a full write up.

Shipped the V1 FDX Int'l Priority (Shipped Friday evening, arrived 11am on Monday Seattle to Belgium! FedEx always amazes me.) for a nice profit so all is not lost.

Anyway I snagged a almost new (rev 6.3) X50 for $190, should be here tomorrow! I am looking forward to something less chatty, that thing was just annoying, plus every time it was cold out when it was left under the seat in the car it would always Error until I warmed it up.

The V1 is a great detector but I will agree with you, it does
like to yap yap yap all the time.... If it had filtering like the
X50, I would use it more often.

I think I have decided never to get a V1 because of the above and the unbelievable prejudice for it. :?
Its way too annoying to set it up the way you want with all that a,A,l,L junk. :?

you made a good choice.

V-1 has the best detection range, but the x50 is a beauty and has sick range as well...
I think I like them both the same....

Hmm well it arrived... v6.1 I guess thats ok, not quite newest, but I'll take it for the price... First thoughts (basically plugging it in my car while parked in my driveway and not even driving away with it)...

Well the red display looks like it will work nice and it even matches my car/interior but that blue would have been so cool but I'm happy with the red. Went through all the settings, nothing extravagant here, but I really like the menus and not trying to figure out what all the letters mean (ie V1).

The tones were decent, but I havent had enough experience to determine the difference between the x, k, ka, etc yet... I always liked that about my whistler *beep* *beep* (sexy girly voice) "X Band" *beep* *beep* auto-quiet. I will give it a run for its money in the city tomorrow downtown . Already have it on Expert mode and I think I like that scanning dot, better than the boring old "Highway" on 24/7 like on the whistler pro 93 I had. Certainly better than that A the v1 had. As great as the V1 detected, I just wish it had a better UI than a couple LED dots and a single digit display...

While I would take it over my Pro 93 just for the range, No way is it 4x better. Now a $190 vs $120 Pro 93 I think the x50 might suit me well.

Btw it didnt come with a hardwire kit, does the retail not either? It came with a really cool case and all the manuals so I expect if the retail came with one I would have got it...

edit: Hmm thats lame I guess it doesn't they sell generic ones on ebay for $10 I think I may just do that, I dont really need/want the smart part I just want the power to come right out from about the mirror like I had w/ my Whistler .

The V1 is an amazing detector however after 8 months, it began to malfunction on Ka band. It was a hassle sending into V1 however recently I went back to the X50 and got it from Best Buy. Couldn't really resist the Blue and the best part about getting it from Bes tBuy is for only $40, you get a 2 yrs replacement if theres something wrong with the escort. No hassle of mailing it in, just go to your nearest best buy and they replace your x50 with a new one.

Yep thats a neat feature. I get to see it drop during bass sections .

First trip to school. It never went off. I drove through all the known falses around here and it didnt make a sound. The V1 nearly scared me half to death last time I drove through there and I was expecting it! I even went through downtown Tacoma to get to class without a chirp..

Not sure whether to beg Escort to recalibrate it or to fall in love 8)

That's the Beauty of the X50, she doesn't speak until
the real deal comes along. Every now and then you
will get a false from a K band Door opener but the X50
is really good at keeping the noise down.

The V1 is really good at letting you know where all the
Supermarkets are in case you need to stop by and pick
    something up...
