    Default Voltage Question

Just rewired my X50 and would like to ask a Voltage question
that some of you may know. I can't remember what it was running
before but are these number normal for an X50 wired to a fuse
box with a "Add a Circuit"

    Engine Running: 14.3
    Engine Off: 13.2

That's about right for any "12V" vehicle. I think you're fine.

I think a 12V system runs anywhere between 11.4-13.8 volts. Alot of items that runs off of a cigarette lighter will even show an input voltage of 13.8. I think anything above like 14.2 or 14.3 volts sets off the voltage alarm on the 8500 X50.

My hardwire sometimes shows 14.3 on the x50's display when the car's running (usually 14.1 - 14.2) - for the last 2 and a half years or so, no false alerts.

    You're normal ...

When the alternator charges the battery (motor running) the voltage
can go up to 14.8 for a moment then drops at preset voltage which can be different from manufacturer.

When we think about electricity it is just wonderfull , thanks Electrons

    running smoothly....

Forgot about this post..... I don't mean to double post but I would
like to include my info here as well..... I won't do this again.

I went to the Voltage Mode and While the engine is running
the voltage keeps fluctuating between 14.1 - 14.3. Its it does
it pretty rapidly, back and forth. Also while the engine is off
I get around 12.5 - 12.8 it fluctuates less rapidly.
    Is this normal?

Could it be the wiring not properly grounded?
I'm thinking it would make the detector go
low voltage or turn off and on if it wasn't grounded
right. That Fuse Tap from the other install bent the
fuse slot connectors apart a bit so I had to bend them back
in order to make proper connection with the new
    "Add a fuse".

Do you think it's the wiring?

.1-.5 fluctuation from the alternator is normal. hole volts 2-5 is bad.
