Can someone explain what the degredation of performance is from selecting Auto Vs Highway on my old 8500?
THANKS!

"A"/Auto mode, from what I understand with the original 8500 has a brief delay on X band to filter out Pairs of door falses. Just under a second I believe. I always used my old non x50 in “A” mode.Originally Posted by skjjr

Im not sure of the difference, but as an 8500 and 8500X50 user for year, I run C nox, in town, H on anywhere else. I also leave all bands on highway, just my preference, I run thru many small towns in Okla and wont take the chance. X50 blue mounted high, pop off for now, no tickets in to long to count. I like expert mode, use it and get used to it, pick settings that work for u.

THANKS for the help! One Clarification - Does this mean that there is no degredation or lag for bands other than X band when in Auto?
THANKS AGAIN!
YES. only on the old 8500's
Auto mode from what I understand over the years:
8500 Non X50 slight X lag all other bands should be fine.
Newest 8500x50 X lag & slight K lag all other bands should be fine.
9500I speed sensitive X & K lag. City mode under 15mph, Auto mode 16-50mph and Highway mode 50 and above.
Only the old 8500 Non x50 would I use Auto mode. In any other case I would use Highway.
Don't trust "Auto Mode"
I find the filtering thresh-hold to Strong which will greatly reduce
early detection of an " Instant On " encounter.
High mode x off!
