    Default Longer cord for 9500i

I know they sell a Direct Wire cord but this requires you to tap another wire in the car..not really thrilled by this

do they not have a longer straight cord with a cigarette lighter attachment

    Not sure I'm following you?

Stick the cigarette lighter adapter where you normally put it, put the coupler at the end of the cord, stick the phone cable at the other end of the coupler, and stick the other end of the phone cord in the detector. Now you have a longer cord

if you have 20 minutes and 25 dollars circuit city or best buy can hardwire it for you. it'll offer a better situation, and help get the detector up high or down by the dash which ever you prefer. and free up your cigg lighter.

I recommend the Circuit City installation. They did mine because I've never done any sort of vehicle electrical work and it's real nice. Quick, easy, and I thought for $25 what the hell.
