    Default Dash Mount 8500 X50

    Hi Everyone:

I just purchased a Escort 8500 X50. I live in California. It is illegal to mount anything on the windshield of a car in Ca. Does anyone make a dash mount for the 8500 X50? Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Steve

Nobody makes a "dash mount" for the X50 that I know of... try velcro.

They typically don't bug you on that stuff but you can try a Hand stands sticky Pad from your auto parts store, they hold stuff real good.

I like visor mount the best but you will cover your X50 controls up.
I actually use all three methods on three vehicles.

Favorite settings to deal with solar-powered radar sensors:
    7 b E F (K automute, 30-sec K time delay, all 8-LED K strength threshold
One volume for K band (muted lever) (small L mode)
One volume for Ka and laser (regular knob) (any mode)
Enjoying regular K volume dead for time limit (small or large L mode)
Small L mode enables adjustable K muted volume lever and LEDs
Large L mode disables all K volume options and LEDs (K completely dead for time limit)
G mode adds an extra rear automute when you pass a false w/no time limit.
    (A) mode disables these custom settings for K speed zones

It is illegal to mount anything on your windshield in California, but enforcement of that law is extremely rare. However, I do know one guy who was given a ticket for having his X50 mounted on the windshield. It's such a rare ticket that I would not worry about it though.
