I got a Ka signal that quickly ramped-up. I had no idea where the cop was. I realized that down the road past an underpass bridge, there is a known speed sign I had true-locked where the PSL goes from 45 to 25mph. I slowed to 20, and sure enough, the expert display started to show the K band of the speed sign as I got closer alongside the Ka signal. A cop was sitting on the side right in front of the speed sign shooting radar from the rear window. His laptop was open and conspicuously bright at night. What was he doing with the laptop? I saw a bunch of columns and numbers.
Felt great. More than enough sensitivity despite the cop being around a curve beyond an underpass and hill. At least a 1000 feet I'm guessing. I usually keep going 45 or so in this area. At least I know the local enforcement uses Ka band here so I can stop worrying that I truelocked out a real K threat with the speed sign. He could have got me with I/O, though.
