Is it possible. I want to wire up my SR7 to mute of the same button as my V1. I'm not 100% on all the stuff with the SR7 as I haven't had much of a chance to mess around with it, but I know how the V1 is set up. It's sending 5v through the mute line in the cable, and then when it's closed with ground it mutes. I don't know how much voltage is going through the SR7 mute switch. My idea is to use the existing mute switch on the V1, as I have the remote audio adapter already mounted on my council. I just wanted to make sure before I do this that my electronics knowledge is sound. Even if they have different voltages, they are just looking to see if the voltage is finding it's way to ground. So until the mute and ground become closed the cross voltage won't affect each other, and when it grounds it doesn't have any backward current since it flows - to + (ground). Anyone one who's an EE or knows electronics better than me please contribute. I just dabble in electronics, but I'm an IE.
2nd note, what is the worst case if I screw up, to my knowledge mute doesn't connect to anything else, so I'll just trip the fuse right?
My mute button I wish to use (already works w/ V1)
