    Default 8500 SmartCord doesn't work

I have a 5-6 year old Escort Passport 8500, which needed to be moved to my new 2008 Acura TL. Before finding time to hardwire it, I tried a temporary install using the coiled SmartCord, only to discover the 8500 would not power on. I tried the cord on another car & it still didn't work. I've finally done the permanent install & the 8500 works just fine.

I've read there is a fuse on the cord, which can burnout, but I can't find it (& I've opened the plug unit). Any suggestions? I suspect this is very out of warranty & I'd hate to spend money on such an old item!

    Thanks for your help.

The fuse is soldered to the circuit board. The replacement is Littlefuse Part Number 0251002, PICO II VeryFast-Acting fuse 2 amp.

Thanks! Any suggestions for dislodging the circuit board from the housing? Mine seems locked in there good & tight, and I don't want to break it trying to pry it out too aggressively.
