Has anyone figured out how to decode the .loc file data for the 9500ix? It would be very cool to have something like the Commander softrware that works with the 9500ix data file. There is no need to have USB compatibility with the 9500ix as you can upload and download the .loc file to the 9500ix using the Escort Detector Tools utilities.

I messed around a little looking at my backup.loc file which now has 81 locked out locations accumulated in the last 2 weeks. (No wonder the other detectors were so darn obnoxious screaming all the time.) But I could not figure out how the data was stored.

I spent a good amount of time tracing things and even got it to automatically go into USB mode with some code I wrote and got it to dump it's data like the 9500i program. But the problem it's encrypted on the 9500ix. Escort had to go to great trouble to protect the redlight database that we subscribe to. Unfortunate everything is encrypted even our own data collected.

Don't mean to discourage anyone from trying. But it's tricky.

Even if it can be broken escort will quickly close the gap with the next firmware update.

Perhaps they will eventually allow you to export/import our lockouts in xml.
Be so trivial for them to do and would not open any holes.

That would be mighty nice of them to do.

I think someone already broke the encryption but was banned and post deleted when they posted their code.

Its a shame to see after upgrading my 9500i, it no longer seems to work with the commander...
