7500 vs 9500

Thinking about getting a 9500

I've had several escort's and a bell (junk) in the past years but my 7500 has been the most reliable and has saved my bacon sooo many times.

I guess my question is, aside from some comfort features is the 95 any better at detecting than my 75?

The two detectors aren't even in the same ballpark as far as sensitivity goes:

The 7500 receiver is based on the same platform as many 90's Escorts, like the Passport 4600, Passport 5000, Solo 4 & 5.

The 7500S receiver is based on the newer "M2" platform. Some other detectors which use this receiver are the BEL Express models, and the Escort Solo S2. If you have a 7500S, you can look at recent comparison tests to see how the Solo S2 performed in comparison to the other detectors, the 7500S should perform similar.

The 9500i is a LOT more sensitive than either of these units.

Had the 7500S been included in the test, it would have performed similar to the Escort Solo S2 (same platform). As for the 7500, its older than the 7500S, so u can figure out how the 7500 would stack up against a 9500.

Even discounting the differences in sensitivity, what you'll immediately see is how much quieter the new detector is.

Id say in general it would be a lot better. When you think about something coming from the 90s to todays standards, it is quite a leap. Imagine computers or cell phones. The same could be said for the average RD.

Try to entice the wifey with this discount. I plan on using the $80 one in the future on my old 8500.

Sell the 8500 on ebay and you will get more than the $80 that Escort will give you on trade.

The Escort 9500 will detect way better than the 7500 and it can detect almost as good as a Valentine One.

Just check out how well the Valentine One from the year 2000 performed against the 7500 from the same year.
