Send it in to Escort. I am not sure what the current service fee is on those. I just saw a post of someone sending in their old 8500 Rev.15 for 40bucks, and it was serviced excellently.
When i sent mine in it was $69 but a got a new body, lens, horn, power cord, mount and suction cups. My 8500 isn't that far off the sensitivity of my 9500I's
Jump on that one. A buddy of mine bought a Mark III navi computer on eBay UK that was broken but me and him tried to fix it and it ended up being a PITA so he sold it over here and made I believe $255 on it. I think he paid $60.
If you win, research and see what fixing it will be and if its worth it then Id go for it. If its not you may get some $$ towards a new one from Escort by selling it if you are so inclined. Sounds like a good deal. Hope I dont jinx it on ya!
