So I have finally decided that I want to do the same for my 9500i even though I use it mostly during the daytime. Yet there are times when I am driving back home from out of town where I just don't want to take the time to switch out my 9500i for my STi with its custom dimmed display for use after dark. Not only that, with my 9500i mounted above my RVM I find that I prefer medium brightness rather than full brightness for the display. Additionally, I want to figure out some simple method for allowing the 9500i's IC light sensor, which senses light through two tiny slits on the top of the 9500i's case, to properly adjust the 9500i's display and push button illumination when the 9500i is mounted up high near the car's roof liner.

Thus this is my next little project which hopefully will feature mods which are both simple to do and which are removable should you ever have to send in your 9500i for any type of service. Does anybody have any bright ideas which they wish to share?

MEM, this may not be such a bright idea but: I was thinking a small solar panel connected to a small light bulb that sat over the brightness sensor. so when there was allot of sun the bulb would be bright and when there was less not so bright.
