Default HELP! Brand new X50 giving tons of X band falses

I have 4 Bel Vector radar detectors and a Whistler Pro78 which never give X band falses. I drove in an area where there are no stores but my X50 constantly gives X falses. I put it in Spec mode just to see the false frequency and it was 10.660 which is not police radar. Anyone know why this is happening? I tried the hard reset of the unit and it still does it.

    You may have a factory-defect....

A friend of mine also had a similar problem (albeit persistent K-band).

If it were a factory defect, wouldn't it say "service required"? I thought these units were notorious for letting you know when there is something wrong with it or when it's not "feeling good"

^ Although I'd say that it should, I don't think that logic fully holds - in the scenario you've proposed, the fault would have to trigger, and then fail, the detector's self-diagnostics....and this may not happen.

For my friend, no, his detector never showed the "Service Required" warning, nor "Self Cal."

    It just kept falsing.

Just looking at the list of RD you own or have owned, I would think you would know more about them than most of us.
If it were mine I would send it in for service.
