Default Would sending my 8500 in get me a new power cord?

I thought I read that somewhere?

The little plastic clip that you press to remove the clear part from the unit broke about two weeks ago and while it stays in, this morning was the first time it actually flung out when I was putting it on the windshield. I am still not ready to hardwire it yet as I want to be fairly use to it first but would like to send it in to Escort for some work as well as a tune-up in the coming months.

    Thanks,

could always just ask them, goto online chat, and just say you have 'xx' radar detector, and you've often heard they sometimes send you a power cord with it, is this true as yours is having an issue

should be no way to trace it back to you if you decide to send it in later, and if your worried run a proxy

but from what i read here, 100% of send-in's have resulted in smartcord and new suction cups(maybe a bracket to i forget), being sent back

X2, the 8500 was an awesome RD and a good unit to update.

Last time I sent my detector in, I asked for freebies. I think the tech got pissed off at me and instead of sending back my 8500 he sent me a Cobra, but it did have a new power cord.

Hehe. Same thing happened to me once when my service guy took a joke wrong. It took me three weeks to finally trade the Miata they gave me back for my car.

Yes you will. In fact I now have 4 smartcords. Last time I sent it in I asked for a visor clip I can use rather than another smart cord and more windshield mounts, none of which I use.

They were more than happy. Just write a note for your tech in the package.

Unless you specify otherwise, they will almost always send your RD back with a new smartcord, windshield mount bracket, and a minimum of 2 suction cups.
