    Default x50 Comments

I purchased an x50 about 2 weeks ago. So far I am very happy overall. I am glad I took the time to read Radar Roys testing and comparisons. The only comment I have goes along with what Radar Roy said about voice on the bell. I have a 2003 GTP the dash is deep on this car. I have the x50 mounted low but in good view (I have progressive bifocal glasses). In expert mode in bright sunlight with sunglasses on it is A LITTLE difficult to see display when it alarms in Ka K or X. What I have done is learned the position of the letters and the different sounds each band makes. I just wanted to post this for other people with deep dash cars, weigh the difference between the angled display and voice if that is important to you.

In my opinion Detectors with voice alert are a joke. When my detector gos off the very first thing I do is check my speed and if I,am speeding I slow down. I,am sure some people feel the need to use voice but this is something I can live without.

I had an old Radio Shack Voice Alert as my first detector, and after that, I moved to a Cobra 9600 without voice. Reason being, I absolutly hate the voice alerts.

what i dont get, is that the rx65 has such distinct tones for their radar, why do they put a voice alert on it? I mean I could tell you the bands before the voice does.

x50 may be somthing to add one on to (optional of coarse), the X band alert and K band alert sound sort of similar at higher speeds. Same with Valentine.

Voice is a joke IMO...SOOOOOOOOO annoying...

What if mount it a little higher up by the rearview mirror? The glare probably wouldn't be as bad...
