external mounts?

Hi everyone,

Just joined this forum, looks like a pretty good community going here. I saw something about mounting sensors on the outside of your car (in grill, rear bumper.) and was very interested in doing this. I have searched google for this with no luck. Where can i pick up these sensors? Are they worth it?

hmm, not sure if it was a jammer. from what i understand there are mounts you can place on the front and rear of your car that make your detection to radar/laser more powerful.


i thought they were exterior sensors that connect to the detector to improve detection. am i way off here or what?

Yes you are off.

There are fully remote mounted units and dash mounted units. Sounds like you are describing a dash mounted unit with remote mounted antenna's to improve range, there is on such thing.

The stand-alone ZR3/ZR4 units are laser-enabled units only.

You can indeed utilize them as only laser receivers, and yes, this will *tremendously* enhance the laser detections capabilities of any of the stand-alone, in-vehicle Bel/Escort detectors.

Laser only, though.

And yes, the ZR3/ZR4 is an active laser jammer - and yes, it can be turned into "receive-only" mode.
