Dj-Thanks for the link. If I try to type in the escort address on my work computer it says access denied due to adult content.

I don't understand why Escort is coming out with the Passport 9500ix. I mean the Speed Camera, Red Light, and Speed Trap Locations feature is pretty cool. But it just isn't fair for the people who already purchased the 9500i and the 9500ci. Unless there is an update that is free or cheap for the current owners, this is just not cool to do.

All the xi does is update the software with some new features and adds the database and will probably include a USB cable.

I’m guessing the upgrade to an xi is not some huge project. A new unit has the blue display and it still sells for $499, so im sure it’s something they originally planed to just sell as an upgrade to the 9500I and have us do our selves.
I believe Escort made a conscious decision to have people send in there units rather than deal with buying a kit than trying to upgrade over the net the first time. Some of us aren’t as computer savvy, I know I would prefer for Escort to do it the first time.

The upgrade for a 9500I to add the x feature should be around $100.

I just purchased the 9500i four weeks ago for my wife not that I use the GPS lockout / mark feature on the unit.
I just do not have faith in automation and adaptive control given to a RD. Give me the signals let me make the decision.
I have the entire US database for red light cams and speed traps (Free of Charge) updated on a monthly basis on my Garmin GPS works very well compared to the 9500i limited proximity alert system.
I tried the mark feature on several speed cams in my area it drove me crazy due to the 1/2 mile alarms then the 1 mile alarms based on speed.
Possibly the software will allow you to modify the proximity distance such as the Garmin POI loader allows you to do.

The mark location dint work well for my more traveled area but for my rare trips up state it worked awesome.
The new xi software should give a smaller mark location area.
As for TrueLock im sure they will keep the 1/10-1/2mi lock out dependant on signal strength. But now it will have AutoLearn and maybe the arrows of the ci.

yea, locations marking sucks. its not road based, which means you can be going in a completely different direction on a different road and happen to pass through the mark radius and you receive an alert for something you'll never be passing to begin with. They should modify that to be on a road type layout
