V1 user gone (a) 8500 x50; (b) RX65
Once again, I'm toying with the idea of going back to an 8500 x50.
Currently running a V1 @ 3.826.
Any reason to go with the RX65? I'm rather partial to the 8500 for one reason or another, though I wish the windshield mount were more like the V1. Steep windshields, like on C5 Corvettes, don't play nice with that flimsy thing.
If you are getting rid of the V1 I would get an X50, with that said: Why ditch the V1?
(I have both a .826 and X50 Rev. 5.)
(The V1 is my thruway unit, the X50 anywhere else (along with many other detectors), and the X50 on the bike, and it sees thruway use sometimes.)
Just a silly personal bias of mine. Always liked the x50. Love the blue display. Performance differences, while there based on the lab results I tabulated for the GOL crew, seem negligible in real-world performance (best I can tell).Originally Posted by AirMoore

This I understand, I have always loved my Rev. 5 X50 Blue. I would much rather keep that over my V1. Then again, I don't plan on getting rid of either.
the x50 had the best ramp up out of the 8500, 8500 X50, and 9500i in my opinion
radarkid sell ur 9500i and buy a v1!
A big X2 to this! I offered my V1 3.864 + $100 for his 9500i, as long as he agreed to say no more about the 9500i, but he refused.

nah...not yet bro. I still need to try it out first.
The fact that it may be 1-3 seconds slower to alert may make up for itself by having less falses alerting constantly....but time will tell. I plan to test it also.
Plus. even more importantly, I plan to annoy the **** out of DJRAMS as long as possible.
