Default 8500 x50 useing pop mode

Has anyone using this mode notice a sharp decrease in sensitivity on K band? I thought it was just not as sensitive since a received it back from escort. I read that some areas were using pop here in dfw so I decided to turn it on. Well I did a test last night and noticed as soon as I turned pop mode off, the sensitivity on K band was back to where it was when I first bought the detector.

When in pop mode, the RD spends more time searching for the Ka Pop band. Leave it off.

Look at how poorly the x50 performed on the various POP tests conducted by the GOL.

Even if you see true POP usage in your area, the chance are good that unless it's precisely the type of POP that the x50 can actually see (and here, you're at a 1 out of 4 chance, not exactly favorable), that the detector will not be of any good use at all.

Unless your local POP hardware is favorable to the x50's capabilities - and that it is actually being used - just turn it off.

^ Also, see the lines of reasoning in that old post of mine, too.

If you do face routine POP threats, ve, and you've verified the type of POP hardware in-use, look to see if the V1's capabilities may not be a better match for your needs.
