Default How well does the 9500i do with around the curve 35.5?

What the title says pretty much. My main concern now that I have my LI's installed, is around the curve 35.5. With my X50, I won't get any alert from 35.5 until I or the LEO (who evers first) passes the curve so I always slow down when I'm coming up on a curve now. Is the 9500i similar? Or is there hardly any advance warning? I know the V1's best at around the curve senarios but I've been thinking of my passengers lately and how annoyed they might be from riding in my car if I have a V1.

The 9500i is better than the X50 when it comes to 35.5 off axis. Also understand, every encounter will have different results depending on reflected radar signals and the angle of approach when you approach a curve.

Thanks for the info. Anyone else care to share their off-axis 35.5 encounters with the 9550i? All input is apreciated here

Pretty much spot-on what Azone posted, is what I see, too (4307 9500i, versus early, potential S7 horn Rev5 x50).

It's highly dependent on the exact physical encounter scenario plays with, but overall, I'd say that the 9500i does hold a not-unnoticeable real-world edge.

Do you often see off-axis 35.5?

    Yes.

One of my daily commute's through-townships really likes their 35.5 Ka. It also just so happens that their main town-hall complex, housing their fire-station as well as police-station, is on a perpendicular with one of my usual routes into that township.

I don't speed, at all, on local surface streets. To me, it's just not worth the extra stress, particularly as I know how heavily enforced my local area happens to be.

But it sure is fun to see how fast (or not) my detector picks up.

Are you happy with how your 9500i reacts to off axis 35.5?

It's definitely an improvement over my old x50. In the real-world, I'd say that it's an not-unnoticeable - and definitely tactically usable/useful - improvement.

If you're debating perhaps going the 9500i or ix route, and 35.5, particularly off-axis, is a concern for you, then this might actually be a worthy upgrade, particularly, as I see from your .sig, you've also got an old Rev5 x50.

    Now......

Am I necessarily "happy" with it? That's hard to say. I'll come back to revisit that if I ever do have the chance to speed through that township, and when I do - or don't - get caught by their 35.5 .

That's cool. I'm still in debate for V1 vs 9500i and I have plenty of time to decide before I choose. It'll be atleast mid august before I'll buy another RD, but like I was saying I drive around alot of passengers, so I've been thinking how annoyed they might get from the brap-braps of the V1, especialy all the falses I drive by. I know I won't care at all, but if the 9500i does any good with off axis 35.5 then I'll just get that. I know the V1 will do a good job at this, as I've seen plenty of youtube vids but there's none of the 9500i off axis.

    V1 versus 9500i - hard decision, indeed.

I would make this decision based, instead of performance, rather on the basis of end-user (your) preferences.

I, too, had this hard choice to make. With the x50, way back when, too.

It's the ancillary concerns that eventually made the Escort products the choice for me, both at the time, as well as currently.

Two very different products, with very different strengths and weaknesses. Both, though, in and of themselves, excellent.
