I get these a lot when they use instant on, the detector catches the quickness of it and detects pop instead. Still a valid alert, just you're not being POP'd Most of the time I've seen it the other way around for me, i'll get a ka then pop, then back to ka.

Interesting. Is Ka used for POP or can X and K be used too?

Strange thing about the x50 on that note. The x50 detects POP as either k band or Ka band,,, x band doesn't have pop, and using instant on x band won't shove the x50 into a pop alert.

The Z series POP guns are K only. Enforcers and Bee's can be either K or KA.

I once followed a North Carolina State Trooper who was in a hurry to get somewhere so he left his radar on Constant on Ka band. My RX-65 was constantly switching back and forth between POP and Ka band the whole time.

The MPH Bee III can be used in POP mode... so stay alert!

The way I read the author of the thread, seems like the RD is doing EXACTLY what it should be, remember, the officer is useing POP mode to stealth the approaching speed trying not to alert anyone with older crapy RD, then he switches to instant on inorder to properly verify the oncomming car speed... SO your RD alerts to the POP, then picks up the officers instant on.

Now there is no way to really know what the officer has and is doing unless you pull over and ask the cop how he is shooting, few are that ballsy.

Happened to me the other day, I'm used to POP falses so I paid no attention to POP unless on the highway but I was in the city and I got a POP alert then a short Ka blast followed by POP again and another Ka blast, and it was a nice ghost car clocking traffic a few vehicles ahead of me. They were using POP while in motion!!! Bad LEO, bad! :?
