Default Impact on 9500ci of Managed Bands ?

Is there is any performance impact on the 9500ci or 9500i when all bands are ON? I wonder if, as resource availability increases and as managed bands are turned OFF, accuracy increases; POP and SWS particularly.

I would also be interested to see any other optimized configs or recommendations for the 9500ci.

    TIA.

In theory, you might be right, but in practice, this hasn't shown to be true, or the many other factors that go into detection range matter much more than this. The difference seems negligible at best.

This is a theory that GOL tested last year and you can check the numbers for yourself, and although the 9500ci was not tested, the results for the other RDs should give some indication of whether this theory has any merit.

Turning SWS on adds an additional 1 to 2 second delay when receiving very weak K band signals. I guess the reason for this delay is that the RD is searching for coded SWS signals, however its done. More importantly, turning SWS on seems to decrease K band sensitivity by about 1 or 2 dBm. SWS isn't used in most areas of the country. Only turn SWS on if its used in your area.

Turning POP on forces the RD to very frequently scan the specific POP frequencies, looking for the very brief POP radar bursts. This means less time for scanning all other radar frequencies, somewhat reducing performance when detecting the non-POP radar frequencies. Again, you should only turn on POP if its used in your area.

I will definitely turn SWS off; I'll have to research POP though. We have ALOT of laser in this area, I was lasered today from a motor unit hidden behind a row of bushes. I would have been hammered for sure had it not been for the 9500ci. Whew!
