That is what the guy told me when I asked how old it was. I was emailing a local guy who had one that was one month old but I have not heard back from him since Thursday.
From what I've read and heard, the older X50 had the better ramp-up. Is this true? By older I thought 12+ months? Would the 6.5 month old and one month old be the same as far as revision is concerned?
Older one is blue and the local one red. I may pull the trigger on the blue one today.
Thanks,

Ok. Looks like it comes down to a blue X50 and a local red X50. Blue is 6-7 months old and I'm told the local one is one month old.
I lean towards the blue because it looks cool but won't really fit the theme of my BMW which has all red and amber on the interior.
Decisions, decisions. Damn, now I lean towards red!
The seller of the red one emailed and asked to meet up on Tuesday. Said he had a funeral or something. Should I email back the possibility of an ebay one or not mention that? I asked him to call my on Friday but he never did which makes me a wee bit mad but I guess I'm over it!

I have X50 blue Rev5 and red Rev 6.1 and really can't tell that much difference except in ramp up. All boils down to personnel preference and the price difference in each. Anything close to new price, just get a new one with warranty.

How much different is the ramp? A few seconds or a couple bars?
Asking price on both is $200. Blue would be shipping and red gas/time. No matter which one I get I am going to hang on to the 8500 I have now for a comparo and go from there. I really lean towards the blue one though. I wanted to check here first but it has been down all day!

As for the Revision, both should be M4 platforms, most likely Rev 6.3's if they are 1 month old and the other is 6 1/2 months old. I'd rather get the red since its newer and it'd look better with the red/orange backlighting in your car. (I'm assuming u have the BMW in your avatar?)
The 5 is very smooth on ramp,1-2-3-4-5, the 6.1 is more like 111-2-333-4-555. Not enough difference that I would worry about it. I would buy the newest one. Hopefully you will be able to test it before buying. When running the X50, especially on the highway, if it beeps I slow down, screw the ramp up.

Yeah that's me. I think it would look better, you are right. I am going to email that guy back. He asked me if I 'had the cash' like it was a drug deal! That's why I was I got back on eBay!
Oh ok. I am hearing you on the ramp now. Weird, my regular 8500 rarely starts with one bar of Ka. When I do get one bar I assume it is a false. Usually when I get one bar it will go to three then go away. When I start with 2/3 I know something is up and normally it will then ramp up to six.
I've been keeping my 8500 in highway mode all over the place and I love it! It picks up so much stuff from so far away. This morning I picked up a X from about a 1/4 mile away. Normally in that same area in AUTO it won't do anything until I am right there.
I am going to email the local guy. Thanks again for all the help!

My opinion, if both are 6 something months old, then chances are they are not S7 Rev 5's.
Do this have each seller email you the serial number or at least the date code, plus in the serial number you can determine the platform, by the FCC id.
This of course they still have the serial numbers.
I emailed the guy about meeting up and mentioned I wanted to try it out first to test the ramp. I will ask him to send me the s/n and I can report here what it is. I asked a couple others I was looking at for their versions rev number but no one really know what I meant.

Well, you will have to ask them to hit the 2 program buttons and power button at the same time and read the screen to get the Rev. number.
