Any ideas. I have hardwired my 9500iX into my fuse box with the kit from Escort. I purchased the one that has the Passport remote with the blue light to go with my 9500iX. Here is the problem. As Iím driving down the road the 9500iX shorts out, on off, on off. It happens when I hit bumps in the road. I checked out all of my connections and they were all okay. As a test I started using the supplied lighter power source. I hate not being hardwired in, it looks terrible. While driving the same roads with the cigarette lighter power source there are no problems, as a result I conclude that nothing is wrong with the 9500iX. So I take my remote SmartCord back to Best Buy and replace it with a new one. I rewired the new SmartCord in and took it for a test this morning. Same problem. I switched back to the cigarette lighter cord and no problem. I am thinking that the issue is with the plug that is on the SmartCord that goes into the 9500iX. I think there is a little play. But Iím not sure. Just in case you are wondering about the connection in the fuse box here is how I did it. I got a little mini fuse doubler at AutoZone. It allows for a clean connection into the fuse box. I have it running off the same slot as the radio so that the RD is switched on-off with the ignition. I have tested the voltage on my F150 and with the engine off it sits just below 12 volts and when itís running its right at 13 volts. Just one other note, my truck runs great and I have not had any other electrical problems. Can anybody think of an idea?
