Default Re: Is 9500ix alert red light cameras when you on freeway?

Remember, All, that the Trinity database is only as good as its input.

I know that when I sent my home-town's list in to allyoops at Cheetah, he immediately said that it helped a lot, as much of what was on the Trinity database, at the time, for my town, was either incomplete or otherwise not 100% accurate (i.e. "future" RLC/speed-camera locations that were already registered, PSLs incorrect, RLC/speed-cam "direction of enforcement" unknown/incorrect, etc.).

With the 9500ix/ci, has Escort set up some kind of "reporting system" yet? to properly update the Trinity database?

Guys,

Don't normally monitor this section of the forum so apologies for not picking this up earlier.

Please report any issues direct to me and I will personally ensure that this gets sorted for you. You can PM me via the forum or email me

Just FYI, Escort's camera alerts actually work in exactly the same way as most sat nav devices. The only major difference is that some nav units allow you to select a feature called "report cameras on route". Be very wary about switching this on. It will cut out the camera alerts on surface street when you are on the freeway, but (and it's a big but!) you have to program in a route every time of you end up getting no camera alerts. Who programs in a route when you're driving the same route to work every day? Nobody and that's the issue. If you forget to switch it off, you get no alerts and for that reason most GPS users prefer to keep this "cameras on route" feature switched off, which also means that the nav unit ends up alerting in the same way as Escort products do.

Anyway, just let me know and I'll make sure we get it sorted for you.
