    Default Buh-Bye 8500 x50...Hello V1

I hate my 8500x50. It wasn't too long after the warranty was gone, when I started getting what I thought were false laser alerts. Then came the "Service Required" messages. Now, I get 2-3 laser hits in pitch dark before I get out of my driveway...false laser hits so often, I don't even notice them anymore. Scares the crap out of my wife and daughter when they ride in the GTO though

The last straw was when I was rubmbling through my home town...and there as a cop sitting there with the gun pointing right at me! What the heck??? I thought maybe he was instant-onning peple or soemthing, but no. I drove by stores that I KNEW set it off...nothing. I even have a video of it somewhere....drive by an adult book store that sets it off, pulled into the parking lot and rolled the video....nothing. I unplugged it, plugged it back in, and bbb.b..b......b..b.b...b..bEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE .

Since then, I've ben hit at least two more times where they were obviously clocking, and it did nothing except what it does best...look ugly.

I hate Escort....still ticked that they promised you could get a key to a Solo. Ha. No key available....but we'll give you $50 a new detector!!!

    I'm done with Escort forever.

So....who's got the deals on the V1's?

Sounds like you roasted your X50 by leaving it mounted just above your car's dash in the blazingly hot sun all the time while your car is parked. What did you expect, that your X50 would somehow be immune over time due to excessive heat unlike other electronics?

Sounds like you don't know what the heck your're talking about. I never leave it pugged in...ever. It gets unplugged and put in the console.

    Danke.

I'll be ordering one tonight...I'm puttin' new heads on the GTO next weekend, and need to get somethig that acutally works.

I'm selling my 8500 x50 to a guy at work that I hate.

Good luck with the V1, its truly an awesome RD. It wont guarantee you wont have any problems, or have less, but its just as good of a choice as any top RD.

Funny story, the other day i was driving in my local supermarket parking lot when i herd, beep, beep deda. I know immediately the guy had a V1.
Im so useto the compleate silence because i have the supermarket locked out i actually heard another guys RD go off and new it was a V1. Man i have issues.

    Thumbs down Re: Buh-Bye 8500 x50...Hello V1

Another V1 zombie (to be)... bashing a long-time member of the forum, and a brand, in their first few posts, classic Zombie material.

Just to let you know, the V1 is prone to the exact same issues. (Mine falls out of tune about twice a year [Maybe a bit more].)

Hey, I'm a Pontiac lover, but if they kept dieing on me all the time I'd buy a Fo......well, bad example.

My Solo rocked....loved it. Until I lost the key and was then screwed. What a scam that was.
