Q for a person woh installed their own 9500ci
I know the control box and speaker have their own power and ground connections.
I was curious say for instance you hook up the power and ground for the control box, can you use those leads to tap into for the speakers power and ground too, instead of finding an another source?

The speaker which comes with the 9500ci includes a power cord which has a barrel plug on the end of it. This barrel plug plugs into a jack on the 9500ci's interface box. Thus there is only one power cord (the one from the interface box) which you then hook to power and ground.
There is no reason why you can't snip off the speaker's barrel connector and wire its power cord to power and ground. If you do this, then just be sure to install a 1A inline fuse or use an add-a-fuse connector.

Oh, no reason to power it seperate then, so it get power from the control box then. Is the StiR like this too?

The STi-R is not the same. Its speaker has its own power cord which must be separately connected to power and ground. At least this is what is shown in the FCC photos. RacerX can confirm this.

Ok, I knew there was a difference. Ok Racer back to my orig q. Can you tap off the StiR's power lead to power the speaker too?
