Escort knows of the problem, they just not that concerned with it. Its with all 9500ci from what we have seen. Possibly only happens to units updated to 1.0 ? Someone here stated they had no issue so possibly they have not updated?
$1600 device and they are not concerned?! Beautifully!
Did someone write this software over one weekend or what?!
-- You cannot change the Sensitivity setting while receiving a radar alert.
-- Do not turn off a radar band in Preferences while your 9500ci is receiving radar on that band. If you do, then the 9500ci will continue to "alert" on the turned-off radar band even though you have driven well away from the radar source. Power cycling your 9500ci resolves this problem.

Well, I tested my 9500ci in KPH (metric) mode earlier this evening when I made a trip to town to the grocery store. My 9500ci displayed all kinds of weird numbers for my KPH speed with no obvious pattern at all. Sometimes the display showed three digits, other times two digits, and rarely 1 digit for the KPH speed. My guess is that the firmware code is using the decimal result after doing the MPH to KPH conversion rather than using the integer result. Maybe the programmer accidentally used the MOD function rather than the INT function? Just a wild guess.

I can add also:
-- When 9500ci is on and then you're starting engine, volume rises to very high level, with no change at the display (there were 4 bars - 4 bars are after engine start, but volume is about maximum). Power cycling resolves the problem.

I tapped my 9500ci's power line into a 20A terminal in my car's fuse box and made sure that my 9500ci is grounded to an under-dash nut which tested to be a true chassis ground. So this problem has never occurred with my 9500ci.

i'd go with a 5A fuse mem-tek, you don't wanna fry your 9500ci, that's how I fried mine(srx), it was on 20A fuse with 20A in-line. It only needs a few amps to operate, so I'd let the fuses go before the equipment.

9500ix does not seem to have this same bug although I was not looking at it the whole time. I tried to look at it for as much as I could from the drive home at work and it seemed to be pretty accurate.
Weird that the 9500ci has that issue. MEM-TEK, your guess is definitely a good one.

No, I have the add-a-fuse plugged into a 20A line in my fuse box, but I am using a 3A fast acting fuse for the the add-a-fuse's additional fuse terminal which powers my 9500ci. And of course the 9500ci's built-in inline fuse is still in place and is the factory fuse. What I was trying to say is to plug the add-a-fuse into a fuse box terminal which is labeled with a high amperage, say 15A or 20A, since that terminal has to have a pretty heavy gauge wire which runs to your car's battery. Heavy gauge wire helps to suck up noise from alternator whine and also tends to maintain a steadier voltage when starting your car.
