Default Size of 9500ci/STi-R Radar Antenna

Hi everyone,

Well, I measured my 9500ci's remote radar antenna and put it in CAD. Then I created a 2D PDF which you can download, print out, and then cut and trim and tape to create a paper 3D 9500ci or STi-R antenna which you can use to check for antenna fit within various installation locations. Dimensions are accurate to 1/16 of an inch. The positions and dimensions of the front of the antenna horns and the STi-R laser sensor field of view are accurately shown to within 1/16 of an inch.

Notes:

-- Make sure that that your utility which prints PDF documents is set to print 1:1 by unchecking both shrink-to-fit and/or expand-to-fit.

-- The PDF just fits for printers which are capable of printing within 1/4" of the top of the page and 3/8" at the bottom of the page on standard 8-12" x 11" paper.

Here is an example of the printed, cut out, and taped together PDF page which has been turned into a paper 3D representation of the 9500ci or STi-R radar antenna:

Here is a preview of the PDF template:

Finally, here is the PDF document which you can download and print:

Mem, that is super helpful.

1 more request, with that paper cut out can you put your 9500i next to it and take a pic?

I tried to open it, but got a blank page?

Quick Q, does that have printed lines so you know where to bend?

The PDF has printed lines and is labeled as shown. Some PDF viewers, if set to not display dithered images, may not show the somewhat thin printed lines unless you zoom in on the PDF document. Nevertheless the document will print okay.

I will go out to my car and grab both my STi and my 9500i and place these beside the assembled 3D PDF template. I will also add my V995 for additional comparison. Give me a few minutes!

I got distracted with other stuff, but here are photos of the 3D 9500ci/STi-R template alongside my STi, 9500i, and the SML RX-65. I absolutely gotta return the RX-65 and the other SML RDs soon before I end up having to pay for them! Procrastination really has no redeeming benefits. Anyway, here are top view and front view photos of the template alongside the RX-65, STi and 9500i:

Mem, I am voting you the best forum member

Wow, that antenna is not that big when you compare it to the detectors.

It is pretty compact...

-- 4" long (excluding the front cylindrical lenses in front of each radar horn).

-- 3-11/16" wide at the rear and 3" wide for the rest of the antenna housing.

-- 1-1/8" tall.
