I've been thinking seriously about joining the Dark Side and picking up a 9500 series RD. While shopping, I noticed that some authorized Escort dealers (who I won't name) sell Escort RDs for more than list price!

Some examples:

• Escort Passport 9500i $504.99 (but you get a $50 "price break," which means you have the privilege of paying $5 more than Escort's list price and you get to feel good about the wallet rape you just received).

Who are the fools who pay these inflated prices?

On a related note, I was all set to place an order with radarbusters.com for a 9500ix, but it's not listed on the web site. Ah, well - at least I tried to be loyal and support our forum benefactors.

Yes, for now direct is the only way, dealers should have within a month or so.

$499 is the list price so that's set in stone but if you can wait a bit for RB to carry them, they may give a discount if you email their CS and tell them you're are a regular member of the forums. I bought directly from Escort since I needed one quicker.

Most likely yes for now, until: A) I hear definitively whether they cross talk with each other or not and B) I get a frigging copy of Winblows to run on my Mac!!!
