I've got a 9500ix that was upgraded from a 9500i. I'm more than satisfied with the performance of this little guy overall. Sensitivity on a recent road trip was unbelievable, it's quietness around your normal haunts almost makes you wonder sometimes, but out on the open road my confidence was restored. I never see radar around Cincinnati, highways are pretty much all laser. Got C/O K-band alerts well over a mile on curvy, hilly sections of the PA turnpike. Drones all friggin over in PA too, which was infuriating. Some I/O KA in NJ, which I had quite sufficient warning of. Stellar performance overall. More than outclasses my V940, which was excellent in and of itself.
Getting back on topic, a nagging complaint does remain. My ix refuses to alert to manually marked locations. All location markers are set to ON in the preferences, obviously. It does alert to database RLCs; GPS lockouts, whether automatic or manual, function fine, both of which perplex me. It really isn't that big of a deal, as I know where the locations are since I'm manually marking them, but it is worrisome. I spoke with Escort about this, and they haven't had anything similar reported. I need to take it in so they can check it out, but I can't bear to be without it for too long, so I need to schedule a block out where I'm not driving much. I suggested that they implement a "loaner" program for us locals, we'll see what they offer. Back on topic again, anyone have any suggestions? Is there something stupid I could be overlooking? I'd feel like a real idiot taking it in there to find out nothing was wrong. By the way, mine was upgraded on like the 2nd day they offered it, which makes me think it might just have been a flake in the upgrade.
