    Default X50 OWNERS PLEASE READ

Hey everyone, I am here needing the X50 owners help. I decided to sticky this for a week & it'll be gone. A while back, I had an older x50 that falsed to POP all the time. Just last month, I picked up another x50 and it did not false on POP at all. I am curous to know if escort fixed their popping problem w/o going public about it. I am hoping the escort owners will join with me and reset their x50 & get the firmware version + post it here...

To get your firmware version, follow these steps: Thanks Pemarsh
When you perform a factory reset, the Passport will power up and show the software version, then go through the normal start-up sequence. This will, of course, override any programming you have made. While the Passport is turned OFF, hold the City, Dim and Mute buttons simultaneously while turning your Passport ON. Release buttons as soon as it starts to power up and read the display for the software version. I hope that helps, and thanks for your interest in Escort!

REV: 3. I've never had any problems but compared to some of you I probably live in the sticks so there's not as much stuff to cause the POP to alarm...

I get POP alerts here and there and some other odd alerts with Version 5.

    Default v5 falses

I have version 5. On this last road trip...2500 highway miles...mine falsed about 5 or 6 times on POP. At least I thought they were falses...I never saw a cop after several miles of the POP alert.

That's not a bad false rate in my book. But still I wished it NEVER falsed.

    My X50 is REV 5.

It hardly ever falsed on POP. But the Ka detection on mine sucked unless the Ka was straight ahead with the gun pointed in my direction. Gonna ebay my X50 once I figure out how to ebay. (cant believe i've never bought or sold anything on ebay)

Not sure yet. Gonna take a look at V1, RX65, 995 or just use my original 8500 and wait for "brand X".
