If you go back and re-read my statement, I clearly said the problem with the unit(s) would be disclosed. What don't you understand about that
FWIW, this problem doesn't appear to affect K, Ka band and is more of a nuisance than anything else. If laser is your primary threat, you don't purchase anything but the V1.
I had to shut the Laser off on my X50 for a few months because of false alerts. Sent it in for a tune up, for 80 bucks it's like new with new suction cups, new antenna and a new smart cord. It also stopped the false laser alerts.
Thanks, fire. Does turning off LASER stop the false alerts?
Hi nomore55,
I'm not sure about the 7500, but your X50's laser falsing may be caused by what I describe in this post along with the repair procedure:
X50 Laser question

OK, now I see that turning LASER off doesn't eliminate this falsing issue on the X50. I was in the car for about 1 minute yesterday and the LASER alert started screaming for no reason, I was parked in my driveway![]()
That is strange. It did stop the laser falses when I turn off laser on mine. I would send it in for tune up just to make sure its good to go. If its a few years old it probably needs it anyway.
MEM-TEK, thanks for the tips on checking that internal shield. That doesn't look too difficult.
I've given this some thought and should probably just send the darn thing back to Escort for a "tune-up". I assume this laser falsing issue will be quickly identified by them and corrected as necessary. The X50 is a decent unit and worth the $80 investment.
Do I have to send the unit to Canada? Where are these people located nowadays?
Thx.
