9500ci with a red display?

Hi everyone,

I totally love my 9500ci, yet personally I would prefer a red display rather than its blue display. Yeah, the blue display looks really cool and all that, but it is hard to read in daytime if you wear amber tinted sunglasses, and it doesn't blend well at night with red or orange lit instrument clusters, and it blue color affects your night vision whereas a red display does not.

So, a simple poll question about whether or not Escort should produce an accessory red display and how much you would pay for it.

Why would you BUY an optional display? Blue is more expensive, if anything BLUE should be optional. Or 9500CI should come in red and blue, like the x50 and cost less for the red. Just my opinion.

I personally think that all radar detectors come in 2 colors. Red and blue.

I prefer the red display. Actually, it should have a number of colors that are user switchable to best match their vehicle's interior. Since the 9500Ci is supposed to be custom installed, different user selectable display colors should be designed as part of that custom philosophy.

Personally i prefer Blue, I find its much more stealthy at night and clear to read in the day/night at the correct setting. Plus all my interior lights are Blue.

In the end you should be able to slide in a different filter for different colors, like the old military flash lights. Just like what WK446 said.

Hmm...Actually an optional LCD display instead of a LED display would be a cool thing for Escort to come out with. Why? Because a LCD display could be backlit with RGB LEDs which would allow for custom tuning the display color to exactly match the interior lighting within the car. Heck, micro trim pots on the back side of the module would allow the user to precisely tweak the display color before installing it.

Just a thought.
